Matt Cosner drives to 13th in Melvin L. Joseph Memorial at Georgetown

Testing the waters with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS), Matt Cosner joined a stout 27-car field at Georgetown (DE) Speedway on Friday afternoon for the third annual Melvin L. Joseph Memorial.

Cosner showed early promise with a solid qualifying run, but momentum faded in the heat and B-Main. Still, he secured the Fast Time Provisional and made the most of his opportunity in the $20,049-to-win feature, charging forward 11 spots to finish 13th in the 49-lap main event.

In another strong start on Saturday at Hagerstown (MD) Speedway, Matt continued to flash speed by qualifying second in his group. However, a seventh-place finish in his heat sent him to the B-Main, where a fifth-place result left him short of a transfer, ending his night early.

On Sunday, Cosner wrapped up the weekend at Pennsylvania’s Port Royal Speedway for the Battle in the Borough. Starting the 40-lap feature via a track provisional, his outing was cut short after retiring on lap 32.
