Top-10 finish in Elkhorn 100 prelim at Off Road Speedway

Checking another new track off his list, Matt Cosner returned to action on Monday afternoon at Off Road Speedway (Norfolk, Neb.) for the two-day event with the XR Super Series.

With a pair of preliminary features on Monday kicking off the Elkhorn 100, Cosner rebounded with a top-10 run in his prelim after pulling off early in his heat. Chasing a $5,000 payday, Matt gained three spots to register an eighth-place finish.

On Tuesday, Matt’s fourth-place finish in his B-Main locked his spot into the $100,000-to-win Elkhorn 100. After running high as 10th, Cosner lost ground late in the 100-lapper to finish 17th.

Joining the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series on Friday, Cosner invaded Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.) as another round of prelims kicked off the 33rd running of the Prairie Dirt Classic weekend. Locked into the fifth-starting position for his 25-lap prelim via his time trial effort, Matt suffered a broken driveshaft that brought an early end to his night.

Buried deep in his consolation race on Saturday for one final shot at the $50,000-to-win Prairie Dirt Classic, Matt moved forward five spots but failed to transfer with an 11th-place outing.
