Cosner sidelined by rib injury at East Bay Raceway Park

Matt Cosner was one of 75 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries amassed at East Bay Raceway Park (Tampa, Fla.) on Tuesday as the Florida oval hosted the final Wieland Winternationals.

With Mother Nature delaying Monday’s opener, Matt raced into Tuesday’s preliminary feature with a second-place finish in his heat race. Starting in the 10th, Cosner was scored 20th in the final rundown after pulling off on lap 30.

On Wednesday, Cosner’s night was over after a seventh-place result in his B-Main.

For a pair of features on Thursday, Matt came in fifth in his heat, relegating him into consolation race for another shot at the $10,000-to-win prelim. Transferring only the top-two, Cosner fell two spots shy with a fourth-place outing.

With a runner-up run in his B-Main locking him into Monday’s rain-delayed feature later Thursday, Cosner injured his rib early in the 30-lapper that sidelined him from competition for the remainder of the weekend.
