Matt Cosner ninth in weekly event at Port Royal Speedway

Losing their first event of the weekend to Mother Nature, Matt Cosner and his team made the short trip to Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway on Saturday afternoon for a $5,000-to-win Super Late Model special.

Qualifying seventh quickest among 33 Late Models, Cosner led flag-to-flag in his heat race to earn a second-row starting spot in the A-Main. Shooting into runner-up early in the 25-lap feature, Matt eventually faded to finish ninth.

Trying his hand at the World of Outlaw Case Late Model Series event at Path Valley Speedway Park (Spring Run, Pa.) on Sunday, Cosner was unable to find much speed and did not transfer to the $10,000-to-win feature after a ninth-place finish in his last chance showdown.
