Matt Cosner
11th-place finish in Freedom 60 at Muskingum County Speedway
Making his first start in over a month, Matt Cosner returned to competition on Friday with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series during the Independence 50 at Atomic Speedway.
After an early struggle in time trials, Cosner raced his way into the main event with a fifth-place finish in his heat. His night came to an early end on lap 16, resulting in an 18th-place finish.
Shifting to Muskingum County Speedway on Saturday for the Freedom 60, Cosner slipped back in his heat race but bounced back with a runner-up finish in the B-Main to secure a spot in the $25,000-to-win feature. Making the most of the opportunity, he advanced seven positions in the 60-lap affair to finish just outside the top 10 in 11th.
